When I paint animals, I’m captivated by the quiet nuances—a fleeting glance, a subtle gesture, the glimmer in an eye—that draw the viewer into a shared moment. My style is grounded in realism yet shaped by the art of storytelling. Each painting becomes a dialogue: first between me and my subject, then between the finished work and the person who encounters it.
I strive to create a pause in time—an intimate meeting place where reality and imagination intertwine. Through my work, I seek to honor each subject’s individuality, spark curiosity, and forge connections that linger long after the viewer has moved on.
All the portraits you see here I've hand-drawn and hand-painted.
I am thrilled with the painting of Tatoosh. I show it often to people from my phone. Everyone who actually see's the real portrait is very moved. Grief is an always thing... but it was wonderful to show it to my clients the day you dropped it off. Thank you again so much, it means the world to me." Rebecca Noble
"My husband commissioned a portrait of my beloved Taglu as a surprise. It was really emotional for me and one of the best gifts I ever received. I felt like he's with me again and I can visit with him everyday. She totally captured his personality and I love the portrait." Melissa Rasmussen
