Today is the opening day for voting on the 10 new Traffic Control Box Wraps that will be purchased by the City of Olympia and placed on local traffic control boxes. I have entered a piece of art, though it has been cropped to fit the required dimensions. My painting is entitled, "The Dragon's Pearl". It was completed using ceramic glazes and through a local business, The Painted Plate.
You do not need to be an Olympia resident to vote, but you will need to register, create a login, on their site to vote. Or, if you have voted before you just need to sign in in order to Vote. Don't worry, they will not spam you or sell your information, it's just to make the voting accessible to more people, while also maintaining the integrity of the voting process.
There are multiple submissions and all of them very nice. You get to choose 3.

This year, Olympia's Fall Arts Walk is scheduled for the 4th and 5th, a Friday and Saturday. I am once again being hosted by Encore Tea & Chocolates located on 5th avenue in downtown Olympia. I will be sharing the space with a number of incredibly talented artists, and of course there will also be a chocolates and tea sampling free for those who stop by. I invite you to come down to Arts Walk and check out all that there is to see and do. 
Olympia Fall Art's Walk is October 5th and 6th! I am being hosted by DREES . It promises to be a wonderful event. Please stop by and check it out.

I will be running a special "Paint Your Pet" workshop on July 8th to raise funds for PAWS Cancer Surgery and Rehabilitation. The workshop with be held at the Olympia Veterinary Cancer Clinic. Cost per person is $60. If you are interested learning to Paint Your Pet and donating to a good cause now would be the time to register. Space is limited. I am now teaching a "Paint Your Pet" sip and paint class at PetWorks in Olympia, Washington. There are two dates scheduled for December. December 8th, from 5 pm-8 pm and December 17th, from 1 pm- 4 pm. Click the word, "PetWorks" to find out more. 
Olympia's Spring Arts Walk is this weekend, April 28th and 29th. I will be selling cards, prints, books and original pieces at Bamboo & You, located on 5th Avenue in downtown Olympia, and at Gallery Boom, located on the corner of Legion and Adams in downtown Olympia. Some of my art students work will be featured at my Bamboo & You location. I invite you to stop by and check it out. 
Six of my illustrations from my children's picture book, Ewela's Baaad Day! have been juried into a new art exhibit entitled, Every Picture Tells a Story. The exhibit will be in Seattle and will run from May - September of this year. I will share more soon.
​Robyn Chance is now offering art classes for adults and for children. A calender of offerings and registration information will be available soon.

A new online store is being constructed for Chance Art, which will allow you to purchase some original art work, high quality digital reproduction prints, and cards directly from the website. Until the online store gets up and running, please contact Robyn Chance directly, and she will make sure your inquiries and requests are promptly answered.
I just found out that the jury selected two of my paintings for an upcoming art exhibition entitled, "Cat People, Dog People" which will take place at the Tacoma Community College Gallery. The two pieces they selected: "Portrait of Jersey" and "The K-9 Unit". I am very honored!

Above is a picture of the new Panda mural I just completed for a local store called, Bamboo & You, located in downtown Olympia. The owners are having a "Name the Panda" competition. The winner not only gets to name this cute little Panda, but will also receive a $50 gift certificate for Bamboo & You. To find out more, click here. 
Olympia's  Fall Arts Walk is happening October 7th and 8th! My art will be at two locations. I will be stationed at Bamboo & You located on 5th Avenue by the Olympia Theater. I will also have art at the new Gallery Boom, located on Legion and Adams in downtown Olympia. I hope to see you there!

My painting, The K-9 Unit, has been entered into a competition for traffic box covers. Voters will decide which designs will be used for the 10 traffic boxes on the Eastside of Olympia. You can vote for your favorite artistic designs my scrolling through the images in the provided link. You just click Like when an image you want to vote for appears on the screen. You do not need to live in Olympia to vote, you just need a Facebook account. Of the 99 images, 10 will be selected. Here is the link if you decide you want to participate. Every vote counts :)

Two new exciting pieces of information!

My illustration, B is for Buddha, from my children's picture book, C is for China, has been selected for an exhibition of illustration art entitled, "The Super Duper Summer Show", sponsored by the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. 
The exhibit will be on display at the Washington State Convention Center and will run from July 1st, 2016 to September 30th, 2016. The art work on display is beautiful, enchanting and definitely worth a visit. I have provided a link to the Washington State Convention Center by clicking HERE. 

My second announcement: My children's picture book, C is for China is now available at another local retailer, Captain Little Toy Story located at 121 5th Ave. SE in Olympia, Washington!

Olympia is home to a vibrant mix of musicians, filmmakers, writers and visual and performing artists. Arts Walk is the largest festival of this type in the region - an unparalleled opportunity to embrace the arts and meet the artists! The Traffic Control Box Wraps are starting to go up all around Olympia's West Side. My painting, "A Tender Moment" is residing by the Capital Mall entrance off of Black Lake Boulevard.  I am so happy with it! Next, the downtown wraps. 

I have started advertising my business in Pet Connection Magazine. You can pick up a free copy at many Veterinary offices, coffee shops and pet stores throughout the North and South Sound areas. Or you can click here to be directed to the online copy. It's free and full of great information and stories.
Join me and over 25 more local artists who are part of the Gallery Boom Pop-Up Mall during the month of December. Which Mall, you ask? The Capital Mall in Olympia, Washington, right off of Highway 101. Take the Black Lake Boulevard Exit, turn right and it is at the top of the hill on your left. Hope to see you there!

Fall Arts Walk has come and gone. It was a great weekend, full of sunshine, art, dance and good food too. It was so nice to meet so many new people, and to get to hang out with Carletta, the owner of Bamboo & You, and my host for arts walk. Thank you to everyone who made Olympia's Fall Arts Walk part of your weekend plans. Next Olympia Arts Walk will be in the Spring, sometime in April. . I'll keep you posted.

The City of Olympia has opened voting to the public to help them decide which artwork submissions to use to wrap the new traffic control boxes that are going into the Downtown and Westside Areas of Olympia, WA. If you haven't had a chance to Vote, I encourage you to do just that. I have submitted one piece for consideration for the Downtown boxes, "Fish in the Wind" and another for the Westside boxes, "A Tender Moment". Please take a moment to see the art, and Vote! Your Vote is registered when you click the "Like"button that appears with the image.10 images will be selected for the Downtown area, and 10 for the Westside area.
